Renovation Plan for Existing 1950's Housing

The Center created a document with several ideas for renovating existing 1950’s style houses typical in the Wheat Ridge community. Renovations include an expansion of the ground floor only or an addition to the second floor. Landscaping ideas and alternative energy building ideas were included in the document. Wheat Ridge plans to use this document as a public idea book for realtors and homeowners. The Wheat Ridge 2020 Inc. is trying to encourage the development of the existing neighborhoods and revitalizing the inner ring suburbs.

EDUCO Wilderness Lodge (with Small Diameter Wood)

CCCD prepared concept plans for a 4,500 square foot lodge, using small diameter wood products and green industry technology. Concept designs were provided not only for the small diameter wood products but a lodge that is off the grid. CCCD’s intern did data collection and research on alternative energy use and small diameter wood products to be used in this project.

Swimming Pool and Recreation Center

CCCD developed a number of concept plans for how the Pool House and Recreation Center could be configured to allow for a six lane 25 meter pool, hot tub/ therapy pool, wading pool and shower/restroom facilities. It also includes a family dressing room. The recreation center half has two multi purpose rooms for aerobics and evening town meetings, weight room, nursery room, offices and lobby/eating area.

High Country FPD Fire Station Six

The architecture intern provided conceptual development and site plans for a two-bay substation for the High Country Fire Protection District. The site plan included a leach field, gas tank, building and parking placement and an improved enter drive. The building was designed as a metal two-bay building with stacking for two trucks, a small office, restrooms and storage. Cost estimating was a large component of this particular project and the intern researched and provided a detailed cost estimate for the conceptual site and building plans.

Chamber of Commerce Office

The Center provided four floor programs and square foot cost for the Chamber to decide how to go forward on their office needs. Additional use of a museum and non-profit office rentals were considered.
