Prior to joining UCD in 1988, Professor Brink spent ten years in private practice in Philadelphia and Denver. During her twenty years at UCD she spent 5 years as department chair of the landscape architecture program. Her research interests have spanned a diverse array of landscape interests including mine land reclamation, new community development, and ecological design. Learning Landscapes, a 25 million dollar initiative that has improved 46 public schoolyards for community and educational use, has been her primary research during the past six years. Learning Landscapes with its urban community-based projects, and youth and health focus will join CCCD and compliment its rural technical assistance program.
Lois Brink holds a Bachelors of Environmental Design and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
