Distance Education

Tapping in to the technological advances in distance education will enable the school to increase access to students throughout the region. Distance education capabilities will be developed and coordinated in the area of public health across the universities for students unable to attend a campus site.  A variety of models will be used, but most distance courses will likely be hybrid, offering both on-line and some face time. Hybrid courses may include:

  • On-site course leaders available to provide assistance to students taking an on-line course;
  • Some amount of on-site instruction, followed by on-line work;
  • Telecast lectures with course leaders on-site
  • Although academic degrees and programs are currenlty taught in the classroom, faculty are currenlty working to develop several distance based courses.
