certificate objectives

At the completion of this certificate program, participants will have:

  • the knowledge and skills necessary to become champions in the effort to end domestic violence
  • a thorough understanding of the health ramifications of interpersonal violence
  • skill and comfort with screening all patients for domestic violence—victims, offenders and child witnesses
  • the ability to effectively assess and treat adults and children engaged in violent relationships
  • the ability to build resources to meet the needs of patients, including but not limited to a coalition with community-based providers
