Ph.D. Admissions & Tuition
The College of Architecture and Planning’s PhD program in Design and Planning is located on the Denver campus. Design and planning form a well established and expanding field of knowledge and practice, regarding the relationships of natural, behavioral, technological, political, economic and cultural factors to the organization of physical space and their combined influence on the quality of life in general.

Once you have completed your application in Step 2, there are still important steps to take prior to being admitted. And then once you are admitted, you’ll need to complete a list of required items before classes begin.

Campus Visit
While a campus visit and admissions interviews are not required for admission, it is strongly recommended that you plan a visit before making your decision.
To assist us in being prepared for your visit, please call the UCD Campus Office of Admissions at (303) 556-2704 or send an email request to visit@cudenver.edu to arrange your personal tour.
- Tours are held at 10:30 a.m. and at 2:30 p.m.
- There will also be an optional half hour information session with an Admissions Counselor prior to the tours, 10:00 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m.
- It is highly recommended that you also sign up for the information session if you are not an admitted student at UCD.
- If you email your request please provide the following information: your name, phone number, address, and email; the date and time of your tour and/or information session; major of interest; number of people accompanying you; educational level (graduate student) and last school of attendance.
While you are welcome to take the tour, you are also encouraged to contact CAP to learn specific information about the program.
