Financial Assistance
There is no separate application for financial aid for PhD students. It is sufficient to indicate your interest in aid and the level of support needed. This can also be mentioned on the Financial Resources Statement that international students complete.
Decisions about admission and financial assistance are made separately. After admission, we review available resources and determine how they can best be used for the greatest benefit. Most of our PhD students receive financial assistance in the form of:
- Tuition grant
- Research assistantship
- Teaching assistantship
- Graduate Part-Time Instructor (GPTI) position
- Fellowship
- Some combination of the above, including international students in their first year of study
