About CCCD

The Colorado Center for Community Development (CCCD) is a community service center for the College of Architecture and Planning at the University of Colorado Denver. The Center seeks to improve the quality of community life by addressing a broad range of contemporary community problems using community development approaches. The Colorado Center works in communities large and small, rural and urban, in towns that never thought they needed outside assistance, and in neighborhoods historically underserved.

Overview

The Colorado Center has three and one-half FTE’s and of this two are professionals that are out in the communities. There are also 10 – 15 interns that are available to work on projects at any one time. The types of projects are:

  • Planning
  • Architecture
  • Landscape Architecture
  • Redevelopment and Rehabilitation
  • Graphic Arts
  • Economic Development
  • Housing
  • Community Arts and Culture
  • Entrepreneur Training
  • Environmental and Socioeconomic Assessment

CCCD is headquartered in Denver at the University of Colorado Denver Downtown Campus and also in the state building in Grand Junction.

Mission

The Colorado Center for Community Development (CCCD) is a community service center of the University of Colorado Denver that encourages sustainable improvements to foster community reinvestment and citizen participation. The Colorado Center provides technical, educational, and applied research opportunities to under-served organizations, neighborhoods, and communities.
