CCCD Urban Technical Assistance Program

The CCCD Urban Technical Assistance Program is intended to replicate the rural-oriented Technical Assistance Program in Colorado urban areas, targeting development assistance primarily to community-based, non-profit organizations that serve low-income and/or minority neighborhoods in the Denver Metropolitan area. The goal is to use university and corporate resources to provide develomental assistance to community-based organizations, government unites and/or citizens groups on innovative problem-solving projects or programs which could enable low-income people to bootstrap themselves and their neighborhoods up the economic ladder. The definition of community-based development embraces a broad range of activities implemented by community-controlled organizations to improve the social and economic conditions in low-income communities. Historically, such activities have addressed both the human and physical needs of neighborhoods, including community organizing, social service delivery, cultural activities, housing and economic development.
