AmeriCorps Summer of Service

AmeriCorps Summer of Service in cooperation with Learning Landscapes and Earth Force helped make possible countless projects at our schools in July 2008. AmeriCorps Summer of Service is a program in which high school students do community service for 3 weeks, guided by community organizations and their crew leaders. This summer we worked together at 8 schools, where we worked to weed, prune and mulch natural areas. The schools have their hands full maintaining their buildings and grounds, so AmeriCorps did a great service to the staff, students and community of the schools. The crews painted asphalt, painted a shade structure and its benches, removed graffiti and fluffed Engineered Wood Fiber. AmeriCorps also painted banners to hang at all 48 Learning Landscapes schools! Thanks for all your help, Summer of Service crews!
