Colfax Elementary School

School Description

Colfax Elementary School is located at 1526 Tennyson Street in Denver, Colorado. The original Colfax Elementary School was built in 1887 and annexed to Denver in 1903. It consisted of a one-room brick building and a portable frame building. It was known as Glenn Park. It served the small affluent neighborhood on Stuart Street and also the children of the scattered farms and houses of the area of Highlands south of Sloan Lake. In 1920 four more classrooms were added and the name was changed to Colfax.
