Chris Thorp and Bill Turner, students in the Master of Architecture program, won first place in the 2007 American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) National Design Review Competition in the category “Open Plan.” The entrants, on display at the AIAS Forum Conference in December, were judged by a panel of professionals and academics on innovation of design, clarity of ideas and design presentation. Bill and Chris’s project, titled National Air & Space Museum-West Annex: Enola Gay Exhibit and World War II Memorial, was developed in Senior Instructor of Architecture Eric Morris’s Comprehensive Studio in fall 2007. The project will be published in CRITJournal sometime in 2008.
