The redevelopment of the Denver Union station represents a paradigm shift in the way many people will interact with Denver’s Lower Downtown District.  Before it is possible to understand how these changes will affect Denver, it is first necessary to understand who it is that is that will be utilizing the space.  Indeed, the proposed redevelopment of Denver Union Station will introduce new demographics to the area while simultaneously redefining it to many who have gotten to know it through the years.  Some of the people who will be directly impacted by the changes are local residents, commuters, local workers, businesses, travelers, and tourists.  Understanding these people, how they move through the site, when they utilize it, and activities that would draw them into the site is pivotal before moving forward into the design phase.
