Degree Required
MPH or Master’s or higher degree in a related field or equivalent. Those individuals who do not meet this requirement will need to complete the appropriate co-requisite MPH courses in the five core areas: Environmental and Occupational Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Systems, and Social and Behavioral Factors. Co-requisites are not included in the credit hours for the degree.
In addition to the above, Focus Areas for the DrPH have additional requirements for previous coursework specific to those areas:

Applicants should have a minimum 3.5 GPA in their previous graduate level studies.

Graduate Record Examinations
Reports of Graduate Record Examination (GRE), MCAT, or GMAT scores are not required but may be submitted as additional information to be considered in the decision regarding acceptance to the program. Recommended GRE scores (combined verbal and quantitative) of 1200 or higher are considered competitive for the DrPH program. ETS ID 4877
Letters of recommendation
Three letters of recommendation from supervisors, professors or other individuals qualified to comment on past performance, experience in public health practice, the ability to perform graduate work, and leadership potential. Letters sent to CSPH (see below)
Career Statement
A short career statement describing the applicant’s background, career goals and reasons for applying to the program. (2 page limit, single spaced). Statement sent to CSPH (see below)
Previous Work in Public Health
At least two years of work in public health or related field. This should be described in the curriculum vitae and career statement.

Foreign Applicants
Foreign applicants from non-English speaking countries must also submit scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
