Associate Dean for Faculty Appointed at Colorado School of Public Health
Dr. Judith Albino appointed as School’s first Associate Dean for Faculty
(July 23, 2009) – The Colorado School of Public Health announces Judith Albino, PhD, as the school’s new Associate Dean for Faculty. Albino will assume the role September 1st, overseeing faculty affairs, promotion, tenure, development and diversity matters for more than 200 state-wide faculty.
“I am excited by our challenge to meaningfully address public health issues through the talents and collaboration of faculty from our three very distinguished institutions,” comments Albino.
In her new role Albino will report directly to the school’s Dean,
Dr. Richard Hamman. Hamman, joined by the School’s administration is, “Very pleased to have Dr. Albino join us with her wealth of experience to assist faculty in their career development.”
Albino has a history of academic leadership including prior service as Vice President of Academic Affairs and then President of the University of Colorado system. “The role and responsibilities of Associate Dean for Faculty are familiar to me. In fact, I began my academic administrative career as Associate Provost at the University at Buffalo (SUNY), with primary responsibility for faculty personnel issues,” says Albino.
Between her administrative roles Dr. Albino has directed the Center for Native Oral Health Research, the only NIH-funded center for research in oral health disparities that is focused on the American Indian/Alaska Native population. She is also a professor in the school’s Department of Community & Behavioral Health.
