Two BACJ Undergraduates Win Awards
The School of Public Affairs had two undergraduate students recognized for their exemplary course work at the 2nd Annual Colorado Association of Criminal Justice Educators (CACJE) Conference.
The conference was themed, “CSI: Real Cases, Real Detectives, Real Techniques.” The two-day conference was sold out with over 100 students, faculty, and professionals in attendance. As part of the conference, CACJE put out a call for undergraduate papers. Fifteen papers were collected from various Colorado colleges and universities, and the top three authors were recognized at the event.
Nina Martinez, a senior BACJ student in the School of Public Affairs, was awarded first place and a $200 award for her paper titled “Connecting Life Experiences and Experiential Learning in Criminal Justice.”
Eric Ross, a sophomore Geography major and Criminal Justice minor, was awarded second place and a $25 award for his paper titled “Anomie and Strain Theory in New Jersey.”
