Bio: George Busenberg is an assistant professor in the School of Public Affairs. In 1997 he received his Ph.D. in the area of environmental management and policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Public Health. He subsequently completed postdoctoral work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under a grant from the National Science Foundation, and taught environmental policy at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. His teaching includes courses on the topics of environmental management and policy, disasters and emergency management, and the policy process. The topics of his research agenda include processes of policy change, learning and innovation in public affairs, collaborative approaches to environmental decisions, citizen participation in environmental policy, wildfire management, and the prevention of oil pollution at sea.
