Diane Carman joined the staff in October, 2007, as Director of Communications for the School of Public Affairs after a long career as a journalist. She began her career at the Wisconsin State Journal while she was still an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She covered business, education and government at a small-town daily newspaper in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and worked as a reporter and editor at The Oregon Journal and the Oregonian newspapers. Before moving to Colorado in 1988, she was a reporter, entertainment editor and Sunday magazine editor at the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Most recently, she was a local news and opinion columnist at The Denver Post.
