Bio: Ms. Novak is Director of the Rocky Mountain Program. She specializes in process facilitation, leadership development, management training, team building, and retreat facilitation. She also teaches at the Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Colorado at Denver and at Regis University's School for Professional Studies. Ms. Novak was elected Mayor of Northglenn in 2001 after serving for ten years as a Northglenn City Councilmember.
Ms. Novak served on numerous council committees and is active in the National League of Cities, participating on the Leadership Training Council of the Leadership Training Institute for many years and serving as chair in 1998. She also chaired several other NLC committees and was elected to their Board of Directors in December 2002. In addition, she chaired the Mayors and Council Members Section and the Strategic Visioning Committee for the Colorado Municipal League. Ms. Novak recently contributed to Working Together: A Guide for Elected and Appointed Officials, published by the International City/County Management Association and the National League of Cities.
Recent awards include "9NEWS Leader of the Year" for 2003, MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce's "Businesswoman of the Year" and an "Excellence in Teaching Award" from Regis University. In July 2002 she was awarded an American Marshall Memorial Fellowship. Ms. Novak has an M.S. in Management from the University of Colorado at Denver, and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
