Laura D. Goodwin is currently the Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver, and Professor in the School of Education. Previous administrative positions include Acting Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School (2001 – 02), Associate Dean in the School of Education (1992 – 97), and Coordinator of the Educational Psychology Division in the School of Education (1987 – 92).
Since 1983, Laura has been a faculty member at UC Denver, teaching courses in statistics, research methods, measurement and psychometrics, and dissertation planning and design. She is the recipient of several teaching awards, including the selection as a CU President’s Teaching Scholar in 1989. She is the author of many articles and books, on a wide variety of topics. Recent publications have focused on mentoring in higher education, standard-setting, and various methodological issues and techniques.
As Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs, Laura coordinates the Center for Faculty Development and Chairs the Outcomes Assessment Advisory Committee. She is also the Chair of the Steering Committee for QUE (Quality Undergraduate Education) which is developing proposals for three undergraduate programs: a First-Year Experience Program, an Honors College, and a revitalized Core Curriculum.
