Advanced Placement Program
The University of Colorado Denver utilizes the Advanced Placement (AP) Program of the College Entrance Examination Board (CEEB), as a way to allow incoming students to gain college credit for lower-level courses and advanced standing in those areas, as they are offered by the University. In order to qualify for AP credits, students must have received scores of 4 or 5 on the CEEB Advanced Placement Examination. AP credit is also granted for scores of 3 plus a grade of 'A' in the second semester of the corresponding AP class. Please see the Advanced Placement Award Chart for credit hour and equivalency information requires Adobe Acrobat Reader (latest version recommended).
Obtaining Advanced Placement Program Score Reports –
Official AP Score Reports must be sent to UCD directly from the College Board.
AP Grade Reports are usually sent in July to the college you designated on your answer sheet, to you, and to your high school. Each report is cumulative and includes grades for all the AP Exams you have ever taken, unless you have requested that one or more grades be withheld from a college or canceled. Visit AP Grade Reporting Services to request official score reports.
Sub-scores are not available (except for Calculus BC and Music Theory) nor are scores analyzed to determine strengths and weaknesses.
College-Level Examination Program
New students at The University of Colorado Denver who have not earned advanced placement credits can still earn university credit for some lower-level courses by taking examinations in areas in which they have demonstrated college-level proficiency. The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) offers a testing service for this specific purpose and has been a valuable tool for assessing and awarding of college credit. Please see the COLLEGE LEVEL EXAMINATION PROGRAM CREDIT AWARD CHART for acceptable exams and minimum score requirements requires Adobe Acrobat Reader (latest version recommended).
