Colorado has been my native home for 32 years.  I grew up near Regis University and am a proud graduate of Denver North High School.  Shortly after high school I served a mission in Kiev, Ukraine where I learned to speak Russian and gained a deep appreciation for the Ukrainian culture.  Coming back home to Denver I enrolled at Metro State, where I met my wife and embarked on a long odyssey to complete my BA.  After working for the Denver Public Schools in various capacities for four years I moved to Grand Junction where I completed my Bachelors in English and worked primarily for the Mesa County school district in a school to work transition program.  Due to an over saturation of elementary school teachers in Grand Junction, my wife and I decided to move back to Denver where she earned a teaching job and I started work as an academic advisor for a small not for profit college in Aurora.  Working for DTI and UCD, I hope to insure a seamless transition for DTI students on their path to a Bachelors degree.

Camping, fishing and hiking are my favorite summer activities; watching movies and the Denver Broncos are my favorite winter activities.  I also enjoy spending time with my two children Isaac (7), Marina (4) and my wife Vycci.  We love our two dogs, Ouray (Yorkie) and Gandalf (Great Dane).  I also keep the Sandoval tradition of hot green chili, year round grilling and super Sunday dinners.

Below are some of my favorite quotes:

"When we love, we always strive to become better than we are.  When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too..."

"Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams..."

"No matter what he does, every person on earth plays a central role in the history of the world. And normally he doesn't know it."

"Everyone, when they are young, knows what their destiny is. At that point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives."
