I have been involved in the human services and education since 1979. I’ve worked as a counselor, case manager and program manager and director in various non-profit community based agencies, providing assistance to a wide variety of people in need, including the economically disadvantaged, the homeless, the mentally ill, ex-convicts, the developmentally disabled, AIDS victims, and many others. I also worked as an Educational Case Manager from 1993 to 2001 at CCD’s North Campus. Since it’s inception in October 2006 I have been the Director of the DTI - Title V grant activity.
I was born in Puerto Rico and lived there as an infant/toddler and again as a teenager. My main passion is music, which I’ve been making ever since I was 11 years old. I’ve been a guitarist for 44 years, and have gained international recognition as a composer and performer of “Avant” or “experimental” rock music.* My wife Leslie and I have been vegetarians for over 20 years, and I love to read, travel (been to Europe about 15 times, as well as to Cuba and Central America), and to hike up mountains. I have 10 “fourteeners” under my belt and plan to get more. Leslie and I have two sons, Ian, aged 30, and Ben, aged 29. I also served in the U.S. Navy from 1972 to 1976.
