An Introduction to Online Resources for Music Research Women's Studies and Issues Resource Sites: A-1
Absolutely Best W.S. Online Archive: Inform: (University
of Maryland, College Park), Extensive
collection of online material about women, a database which serves those
people interested in the women's studies profession and in general women's
issues. The database contains collections of conference announcements,
calls for papers, and employment opportunities, as well as a picture gallery,
course syllabi, and a significant number of government documents.
Advancing
Women: International Business & Career Community News,
Networking, Strategy For Women in the Workplace, with specialized categories
and links to Women in Education, Challenges for the Future of Education,
Training Women for Leadership in Education, eDscape - online discussion
of scholastic topics, classroom experiences, "teacher search" function
enables building one's own online community, linking email addresses, Teaching
Resources, Education Career Resources, Education to Eliminate Gender Bias,
Special Report- Schools, InterNIC Academic Guide to the Internet, and InterNIC
Guide to US Universities. Especially interesting is the article,
"Women Execs Seize Latin
American Opportunity," which highlights the rapid growth of the Telecom

women in leadership. The journal publishes manuscripts that report,
synthesize, review, or analyze scholarly inquiry that focuses on women's
issues.
American
Association of University Women (AAUW):
Contains info about AAUW publications, US congressional voting record on
key issues; a national organization that promotes education and equity
for all women and girls.
The
Complete List of the American Memory Collection of the Library of Congress:
Photos & prints of the women's suffrage movement, portraits of leaders,
etc.
