Colorado Community College System
The Colorado CIBER is supporting the Colorado Community College System’s Colorado Rural Alliance for a Global Future initiatives. Christian Schneider, Consultant to and senior fellow at the Wharton School's Center for Human Resources at the University of Pennsylvania, addressed a group of faculty and students from Red Rocks Community College, Regis University, the University of Northern Colorado, and the University of Colorado at Boulder on the historical framework for European Union economic initiatives.

Colorado School of Mines

Former director, Donald Stevens, visited Professor Eul Pang in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to explore possible joint offerings of programs for oil and gas executives in the US and abroad and Colorado School of Mines graduates. Discussions also ensued about allowing Mines students to attend UC Denver business classes, allowing UC Denver students to attend Mines languages classes, and extending the joint BA-MSIB program to Mines students. Colorado School of Mines faculty continually attend the CIBER’s International Executive Roundtables. European Union specialist Christian Schneider, Consultant to and senior fellow at the Wharton School's Center for Human Resources at the University of Pennsylvania, met with Colorado School of Mines history students to discuss the new entrants into the European Union.
CU-Boulder

A joint five year BA/MSIB degree program has been developed for exceptional students who wish to combine a BA in International Spanish for the Professions from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Master of Science in International Business (MSIB) from the University of Colorado Denver. Students are able to complete both degrees in five years, including two summer sessions, because 15 credit hours of the undergraduate major can be used to waive the Common Body of Knowledge requirement of the MSIB program.

K-12 Initiatives

Asian Education Advisory Council

In 1985 the Denver Public School's Board of Education established the Asian Education Advisory Council to improve the educational quality and opportunities for K-12 students with Asian or Pacific Island heritage. The CU CIBER is working with this body to provide keynote and guest speakers for Denver's public school programs.

Global Health Connections

The UCD Global Health Connections program brings middle school students in Colorado and other nations together to work on multi-cultural solutions to global health issues in developing nations. Students spend time researching key internet sites, work with community health professionals who act as mentors and foster students’ understanding of the scientific research process, gain a multi-cultural perspective of their research topics, and compete in a state-wide fair where teams describe their projects.

Japan High School Mentor Program

The mentor program, co-sponsored with the Japan America Society of Colorado and JETRO, pairs high school students from Colorado's IB programs with business executives and managers. These students learn about Japanese culture, business protocol and how to do business in Japan. They work on a Japan-related project with assistance from their mentors. The CU CIBER hosts the capstone competition for this program.

Model UN Program
The CU CIBER partners with Colorado's Model UN High School Program. Each year we sponsor an international lecture for this body of students. The lecture focuses on international business topics identified by the host high school.
Morgan Community College, Colorado
CIBER sent an international finance faculty member to Morgan Community College in February 2005 to address a combined group of 40 students and community members on “China’s Economic Growth, Culture and Educational System.” Several faculty members from this community college participated on the CIBER study tour to China.
PACIBER

The Pacific Asian Consortium for International Business Education and Research (PACIBER) was created in 1988 as a consortium of leading universities dedicated to bridging the gap by establishing linkages to promote international business education, research and exchange of information among faculty and students. PACIBER strives to widen the scope of cooperation, facilitate communication, and expand awareness of the Asia-Pacific region among its members, and in the business community at large. PACIBER stands as a forum for the exchange of ideas where members can network and learn from one another. In the process and through faculty exchanges and other alliances, member universities can raise the levels of their business education programs. PACIBER member schools greatly benefit through increased access to and networks with the leading business schools in North America, Asia and Oceania.
