  • The Institute for International Business (IIB), home of CU CIBER, was established in 1988 by the University of Colorado's Board of Regents.
    The Institute for International Business Advisory Council was established in 1992.
  • CU CIBER was first designated as a CIBER by the US Department of Education in 1993. It has received three CIBER re-designations.
  • CU CIBER's Global Advisory Board was established in 1994 and Global Executive Forums have been held twice each year since then.
  • In a typical year, CU CIBER hosts 23 workshops in international business for 634 faculty participants and 11 seminars for 936 business attendees.
  • On July 1, 2004, the University of Colorado at Denver and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center merged into one institution, the University of Colorado Denver (UCD).
  • UCD had a fall 2004 headcount of 15,071 and served 27,070 students in the academic year.
  • In the academic year 2004-05, international students from 121 countries attended UCD including 28 students from Mongolia.
  • In a year's time, approximately 540 students will graduate from UCD with a master's degree in business; over 50% of these will have international business expertise.
