Next chapter in grand history in health care

(Oct. 6, 2008) More than 400 faculty, staff and students joined Chancellor M. Roy Wilson, MD, MS, and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs Richard D. Krugman, MD, Friday, Oct. 3, to celebrate and commemorate the opening of Research 2 on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora.

In addition to highlighting the enormous impact of the new building, the event recognized the following anniversaries:

*  125 years of the School of Medicine,

*  110 years of the College of Nursing, nearly 100 years of the School of Pharmacy,

* 30 years of Dental Medicine and the grand opening of the Colorado School of Public Health.

Wilson thanked the faculty and staff who had worked tirelessly to make the Anschutz Medical Campus a reality and recognized the sacrifices that had been made by many to create the world-class facilities such as Research 2.

Attendees enjoyed barbeque and the music of the band Red Line (led by University of Colorado Hospital employee, John Burgess) under a giant University of Colorado Denver banner on the bridge connecting Research 1 to Research 2.
