University of Colorado Denver Closed March 26 

Anschutz on two-hour delay; Downtown Campus on normal schedule

5: 28 a.m. -- Downtown Campus will be operating under a normal schedule today, March 27. UC Denver’s Anschutz Medical Campus will be on a two-hour delay for non essential staff and faculty and for students. We expect the majority of arrivals around 10 am. Crews have worked through the night to keep up with blowing snow to make the roads passable. If you work at the University of Colorado Hospital or The Children’s Hospital, please check in with your supervisors for details about the start of your workday.

 

4:47 a.m. -- The UC Denver’s Anschutz Medical Campus will be on a 2 hour delay for non essential staff and faculty and for students. We expect the majority of arrivals around 10am. We are still awaiting word on decisions for the downtown Denver campus and Auraria and will update this posting as soon as we have that information.

12: 52 p.m. - Effective immediately, the Anschutz Medical Campus is closed due to inclement weather. Non-essential personnel can leave. If you work at UCH or TCH, you must consult with your supervisor to determine if you are released from your duties.

A decision on whether the Anschutz Medical Campus will reopen on Friday, March 27, will be made by 5 a.m. Friday. This information will be available thru the Denver area media outlets, 1-877-INFO-070 (1-877-463-6070), at www.ucdenver.edu/alert and university e-mail announcements.

10:10 a.m. - The Auraria Campus, including the University of Colorado Denver, Downtown Denver location will be closing at noon today, Thursday, March 26 due to extreme winter weather conditions in the area. All staff, faculty and students who may be on the campus are encouraged to use caution as they depart.

A decision on whether the Auraria Campus will reopen Friday, March 27 will be made by 5 a.m. Friday. Please monitor Denver area media outlets for updates on weather conditions and closure information. You also can check the Auraria Campus information line for Auraria-specific information. That number is 303-556-2401. Information specific to UC Denver operations is available at 1-877-INFO-070 (1-877-463-6070).

UC Denver staff, faculty and students on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo. should also monitor local news media and check for updates online or by calling 1-877-INFO-070 (1-877-463-6070).

9 a.m. -- Winter conditions are developing in the Denver Metro area. As of 9 a.m., the University of Colorado Denver locations are operating on normal schedules. Although, due to spring break on the Auraria Campus-Downtown Denver, no classes are being held this week.  Should conditions worsen prompting schedule changes or facilities closures, information will be posted here as quickly as possible.

(Jan. 19, 2009) The University of Colorado Denver now will provide weather and other emergency-related information, as appropriate, on a toll-free phoneline effective immediately. The number is 1-877-INFO-070 (or 1-877-463-6070). You'll want to make a note of this number. Take a minute now to program it into your cell or home phone for easy access when conditions develop that might affect UC Denver's Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora or the Downtown Denver-Auraria Campus.

When exteme winter weather conditions do develop, UC Denver's normal business operations can be affected. Students, faculty and staff can check local broacast news media (television and radio) for announcements about closures or schedule adjustments. Information also will be available online.

For those who routinely are on UC Denver's Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora updates will be available on the new toll-free line 1-877-INFO-070 (or 1-877-463-6070) or online. We're changing to this new number because the advanced technology allows the system to answer many more incoming calls simultaneously, thus dramatically improving the efficiency of the phone service for our users.

Students, faculty and staff connected to the Downtown Denver Auraria Campus also can check for recorded updates on the Auraria line 303-556-2401.
