Lively addition brightens walls of Barbara Davis Center
(July 28, 2008) Stephen McClymont, a well known artist who has numerous pieces of art work in galleries around the world, has donated his oil on linen work “Zoe” to the Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes (BDCCD). The artist and his wife, Eve Melanitou, were present for the hanging on Friday, July 25, for a small reception.
The piece was conceived in 2003 when Melanitou, who is a scientist and at the time worked in the executive director’s lab of the BDCCD, decided then to donate a piece of art work to the unfinished building. The title, Zoe, means life in Greek.
McClymont, who trained at the National Art School in Sydney, Australia, is a senior teacher of painting at the Parisian campus of Parsons School of Design.
