A moving experience for students, volunteers
(Aug. 11, 2008) In only its third year, Campus Village located adjacent to the Auraria Campus welcomed its largest group of students at Move-In Day on Saturday, Aug. 9.
The fall 2008 semester, which began Aug. 11, has 450 UC Denver, 200 Metropolitan State and 40 Community College of Denver students signed up to live in Campus Village. The UC Denver freshman class has grown each year with the total of students this year near 1,200, compared to about 1,000 in fall of 2007.
UC Denver students, faculty and staff volunteered to help students and their families move the students into Campus Village.
A big day for most freshmen and their families, the volunteers made the transition from home life to campus life at the University of Colorado Denver a smooth experience and happy time. This year is unique because students will be living in the heart of downtown Denver as the city prepares for national attention during the Democratic National Convention Aug. 23-28. Incoming students already had the attention of local media as Fox 31, Channel 2 and Channel 4 covered Move-In Day.
