Salary adjustment updates

(July 1, 2008) The following information is regarding salary and pay increases for classified staff, faculty and exempt professionals.

For exempt professionals and faculty, salaries are approved by the chancellor. A notification will be provided by your school, college or department regarding the salary adjustment amount. Within 30 days of a change in salary, optional short-term disability insurance can be modified to ensure coverage is updated. Standard Insurance Company may require a physical.  If you have questions, please contact Payroll and Benefit Services at 303-735-6500.

For classified staff, pay increases are based on their occupational group and performance rating. Payroll and Benefit Services will mail a salary notification to employees’ homes in mid July and a copy will be provided to the school, college or department.

Achievement pay uses a combination of base-building pay increases and non-base rewards based on performance. Employees rated as meeting and exceeding expectations (levels 2 and 3) receive base-building achievement pay that includes both the occupational group market salary adjustment and a fixed, statewide 1.0 percent increase, subject to the range maximum. Employees rated as exceeding expectations (level 3) also receive an additional 2 percent non-base, lump-sum. The non-base building amount will be included in the July paycheck.

Pay structures and market salary adjustments for the occupational groups, base and non-base achievement pay, system maintenance studies, and individual class adjustments are outlined in the table below. The amounts will be reduced due to the requirement to divert 0.5 percent to fund the supplemental amortization equalization distribution (SAED) to PERA in accordance with statute (SB06-235).
