Research on pomegranates and health
(July 31, 2008) Volunteers are needed for a three-month research study exploring the effects of pomegranate juice on different markers of health in diabetes patients.
Participants must:

have Type 2 Diabetes treated with oral medication
-
be 35–70 years of age
-
be non-smoking
-
not be using insulin therapy or steroids
-
not be pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding
-
have an HbA1c level ≤ 9% AND an hsCRP ≥1.0 (researchers will assess)
-
have no other significant medical history
-
be willing to have blood drawn
-
be willing to maintain normal activity and eating patterns
