Answering the call to communicate
When we combine resources and communicate, we strengthen the impact of the university internally and externally. That’s the principle driving the Schools and Colleges Communications Group (SCCG), a collection of people who spend at least some of their time promoting school and college programs and events.
This group extends the efforts of the five full-time employees who provide marketing communications and media relations for the downtown campus. “By meeting regularly to share information and strategy, we are able to increase the effectiveness of our efforts,” says Charlotte Million, director of marketing communications.
SCCG members include campus communications assistants and webmasters. The group builds communications and understanding among and the varied constituents of a diverse campus. For many members, the communications and marketing function is added to a full plate of work priorities. Representatives from each school and college are:
-
The Business School, Malena Brohm; Rebecca Bohlen (webmaster)
-
College of Architecture and Planning, Betsy Metzger
-
College of Arts & Media, Cindy Barringer
-
College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Marilee DeGoede
-
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Katy Brown, Teri Hoyer (webmaster)
-
The Graduate School of Public Affairs, Annie MacLachlan
-
School of Education & Human Development, Ja’Net Hurt
-
Center for Collaborative Education and Leadership (CCEL), a part of SEHD, Kate Templeton
Faculty and staff with awards, highlights, publications, new programs and research information are encouraged to contact their school or college liaison to help spread the good news about UCDHSC. SCCG members forward marketable, timely information to the offices of marketing communications and media relations, providing highlights and news for Skylines and/or broader media outreach.
The Schools and Colleges Communications Group meets the second Wednesday of each month. For more information, contact Catherine Beuten, internal communications manager, at 303-352-3841 or catherine.beuten@cudenver.edu.
