Diversity report delivered to Blue Ribbon Commission

Members of the University of Colorado Blue Ribbon Commission on Diversity have received a new report detailing a range of diversity-related programs and results of those efforts for the consolidated University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center (UCDHSC). The report was delivered in preparation for the commission’s meeting Saturday, March 4, on the downtown Denver campus. To date, this will be the second campus meeting of the commission established by President Hank Brown to engage in a system-wide, external review of diversity programs at the University of Colorado.

All UCDHSC students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the public session 9 a.m.–12:20 p.m. at St. Cajetan’s Center on the Auraria Campus. The morning’s agenda includes opening remarks by President Brown and UCDHSC Chancellor Greg Stiegmann, as well as discussion panels featuring students, faculty and staff representatives. Members of the greater community also are welcome to attend the public sessions.

The immediate outcome of the day will be a set of recommendations for improving diversity. The ultimate outcome will be important achievements in the recruitment and retention of students of color and other diverse students at CU, and in creating a welcoming and enriching academic environment.

Send your RSVP and questions to blueribboncommission@cudenver.edu.
