Phil Villa of Facilities Services at UCD is honored with the health sciences center Employee of the Month award for August. Villa was honored for quick response time, an excellent attitude and never failing to smile in the face of adversity. Auraria Creates

Today is the last day to get a look at some of the works of talented faculty and staff at the downtown Denver campus. New Faculty Orientation

Students weren’t the only ones being welcomed to campus. New Faculty Orientation, hosted by the Center for Faculty Development (CFD), enabled the newest members of the campus community to learn about options available to them, the ins and outs of being part of the university and provided the opportunity for up-to-date professional photographs for marketing and Web use. Staff Council Lunch & Learn

The inaugural Staff Council Lunch & Learn kicked off with Greg Rowe from Human Resources conducting the first in a series. About two dozen participants learned about the myths and realities of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) on Tuesday, Aug. 15, in the Science Building. More events are planned throughout the semester.
RTD turnaround complete

Construction on the RTD turnaround to move the roundabout to the area between the PE Event Center and North Classroom is complete. Students and faculty were being dropped off on Speer Boulevard and Larimer Street while construction was under way.
