The lure of 60-degree temperatures and blue skies was overshadowed March 6 by the opportunity to learn more about the University of Colorado Denver's (UCD) offers. Weeks of preparation paid off as about 1,300 people took part in the Downtown Denver Campus’ spring Open House. This biannual event brings together prospective students with faculty and staff members who can make their introduction to the university convenient and comfortable.
Prospective students ranging in age from seniors in high school to senior citizens took part in campus and College of Arts & Media tours; seminars on admission, financial aid and the College Opportunity Fund; and one-on-one discussions with professors in their area of interest. Several groups and organizations also were on hand to discuss campus life and the many means of obtaining a top-quality, cutting edge education whether in the classroom, the community or online.
Faculty and staff gave up their Sunday on March 6 to talk with and educate potential students and their parents on the advantages of an education at the Downtown Denver Campus. The event, sponsored by the Office of Admissions and the Office of Marketing Communications, was highly successful. Participants complimented both the institution and the helpfulness of the event as they left Auraria Event Center loaded with information and insight into the expansive possibilities of a future at UCD.
