International Business earns
coveted CIBER grant

Institute for International Business

UCDHSC’s Institute for International Business has been awarded a CIBER grant, bringing over $1 million into the university over the next four years to accomplish international business initiatives.  This designation rewards the comprehensive efforts of the Institute’s team: Donald Stevens, Manuel Serapio, William Murray, Jana Blakestad, and Melanie Ellison, as well as the talent and dedication within our university, particularly within the Business School.

CIBERs (Centers for International Business Education and Research) are selected by the US Department of Education to help US companies compete and prosper in the global economy by marshalling the resources of select universities and enhancing their abilities to provide highly effective, internationally oriented educational, research and outreach initiatives.  UCDHSC is one of 31 national centers of excellence and among top schools such as Wharton, Michigan, Duke and Columbia.  The Institute for International Business has held this designation since 1993 through open grant competitions that occur every four years.

The grant application includes over 40 international initiatives targeted to students, faculty, public policy makers, business people and the general public, enabling our CIBER to serve as a regional and national resource in international business education.
