Open house opening doors
An impressive 1,200 prospective students, their families and friends took part in the fall open house at the P.E. Event Center on Oct. 28. In addition, about 125 faculty and staff volunteers helped make the event a huge success.
The next university Open House for prospective students has been set for Saturday, March 3, in the Auraria Event Center. Open House is the campus visit program that connects students interested in undergraduate and graduate programs with 125 faculty and staff in one room on one day. Data from the fall 2006 Open House indicate a trend toward increased attendance in the fall.

This year, 392 students completed survey cards with their contact information, compared to 286 last fall, and 244 in fall 2004. The Web site this year surpassed all other forms of media as a primary source of information. And this marked the first year the university placed banner signs on the interior of Auraria, marketing to Metro and CCD students. Open House is clearly an important recruitment event; of those attending, 147 intend to apply, 146 have not applied, 66 have applied for admission and 33 did not answer the question.
