An initial task being undertaken by Associate Vice Chancellor for Communication Steve Krizman is merging the Marketing Communications team based at UCDHSC’s downtown location and the Public Relations and Publications teams at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Krizman joined the university July 30.
He comes to UCDHSC from Kaiser Permanente in Denver where he had been the director of Corporate Communications since 2003, and prior to that he had served as Kaiser Permanente's media relations coordinator. During his work at Kaiser Permanente, Krizman lead an integrated communications team focused on building brand awareness and developing strategy to tell its story.
In his UCDHSC role, Krizman’s objective is to support the university’s overall mission and strategic plan including the pending brand development and roll out.
Krizman’s earlier professional journalistic experience included 7 years as an assistant city editor for the Rocky Mountain News preceded by editorial positions at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Boulder Daily Camera and the Longmont Times-Call.
Currently a master’s degree candidate in Organizational Communication and Adult Learning at Regis University, Krizman graduated with honors to earn a BS in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He also has been a guest lecturer at Metropolitan State College and Colorado State University.
Krizman also has been an advisor to the UCDHSC downtown Denver student newspaper The Advocate and he provides communications advice to the Colorado Clinical Guidelines Collaborative.
His office is located on the 14th floor of the Lawrence Street Center.
