(June 19, 2009) Beginning Monday, July 13, anyone who has bookmarked or typed in the URLs CUDenver.edu or UCHSC.edu will be automatically redirected to UCDenver.edu. This change represents a significant tipping point in the reconstruction of our Web site. The UCDenver.edu main entry page now is fully functional for internal and external audiences.
Most impact on staff and faculty
The UCDenver.edu main page, launched earlier this year, already attracts up to 10,000 visits a day, mostly from external audiences. The July 13 switch over mostly will impact staff and faculty who use UCHSC and CUDenver pages as their "home" page. All the functions and features used by staff and faculty on those legacy pages can be found on UCDenver.edu, but in different places. For example, the "people search," available by button on the UCHSC.edu page, is instead a drop-down selection on UCDenver.edu. The A-Z index, Web mail, and Blackboard links are live links right above the search box. At the top of UCDenver.edu, you will see a list of "gateways," which allow users to get quickly to the segment of our vast Web site that is most useful to them, whether they be staff, faculty, students, patients or alumni.
What you need to do
If you currently use UCHSC.edu or CUDenver.edu as your home page, you may change your home page to UCDenver.edu now. Or you may wait until July 13, and your browser will automatically take you to UCDenver.edu.
