(Oct. 22, 2009) The University of Colorado Denver has consistently honored and celebrated those who give their time, spirit and resources to better the Front Range Community. It’s not enough to say thank you once, however, so the Downtown Alumni Association invites honorees to lunch once a year to again say “thank you.” The Alumni Award Reunion Lunch is an annual event that brings all UC Denver Downtown Campus award recipients together in the spirit of the university.
Carol Heller, alumni association director, says, “The lunch is held to advance established relationships and to promote the campus.” There were 33 attendees: a packed house!”
Provost Roderick Nairn provided a “state of the university” address to attendees at the luncheon, held a the Palm Restaurant in downtown Denver.
“The Alumni Association invites all recipients who have been selected in previous years,” Heller explains. “These individuals have a record of distinction with the Downtown Campus and/or in their profession, community and society at large. This is not a fundraising effort for scholarships – merely a thank you for past and continued support of our campus.”
