(Nov. 6, 2009) As the holidays draw near, it’s more important than ever to take a look around, take a moment and volunteer your time to make someone’s life better.
The Experiential Learning Center’s Nov. 4 Stop and Serve asked for only 5 minutes of time and 44 students (about 30 new), two professors and six staff stop and serve gave that much and much more. The event is held in the North Classroom Atrium on the Downtown Campus.
In no time:
- 5 no-sew blankets for the Children’s Hospital were created.
- 26 meal bags for project Angel Heart were decorated.
- 7 beanies for the African Community Center were completed.
The materials for this event were provided by the Students for Community Engagement, a student group dedicated to elevating the culture of service on Auraria Campus.
