(March 20, 2009) Jeanette Brown, 30, was born in Building 500, the old Army hospital on the Fitzsimons campus, so it was only fitting that she attended medical school on the Anschutz Medical Campus. After growing up in Germany, Japan and Texas, she came full circle and returned to the place it all began. She calls herself a “career student” after spending eight years earning a dual degree—a PhD in immunology and her MD in pulmonary critical care. She is the first of her family to attend college and has a younger sister who followed in her footsteps, attending pharmacy school in Utah. Brown says the University of Michigan medical center was her top choice due to their pulmonary critical care.
