Encryption of laptop computers – important project dates for departments

(July 27, 2009) Information Technology Services and LAN Administrators currently are deploying encryption software to all eligible UC Denver laptop computers. This proactive project addresses the critical need to help prevent the loss of sensitive information at UC Denver in accordance with University-wide security policies and initiatives.

To keep the project on track, two very important deadlines have been established:

• Sept. 1, for completing encryption training (LAN Administrators) and for scheduling the encryption of department laptops.
• Dec. 31, for completing the encryption of all eligible laptop computers.

In order to meet these deadlines, we are asking department administrators and LAN Administrators to contact IT Services directly to arrange the activities noted.
