Caution needs to be used in interpreting the results of the PLACE tests.
For general PLACE tests, two factors affect the pass rates: (1) Students who are entering the licensure program may indicate CU-Denver as their school. Since CU-Denver is a graduate only program they may not have had any coursework at CU-Denver at the undergraduate level. Results of the PLACE will not reflect work completed at CU-Denver. (2) Students may take the general PLACE tests at different times in their education. Again, results of the PLACE may not reflect their educational activities at CU-Denver. The CU-Denver School of Education is working to create a system which validates the PLACE tests with actual attendance at CU-Denver. This should be in place for future evaluations.
For specific content PLACE tests, some students may complete only a small amount of actual coursework at CU-Denver (particularly out of state students who are filling in requirements). Their scores may not be an accurate reflection of the overall CU-Denver programs. In addition, students may decide to send PLACE scores to schools they have not attended. |
Exam data will be provided by CCHE except for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exams results which are included in this attachment. | |
