Offers students a broad yet thorough grounding in anthropology as well as specialized instruction in medical anthropology, biological anthropology, and archaeological anthropology. This degree provides a versatile base for career development by presenting an integrative perspective on the human condition and training to objectively assess cultural patterning and social interaction.

Completing a minor in anthropology will give you an excellent introduction to the field. You will be exposed to the basic concepts of the field-for example, evolution, adaptation and cultural diversity-and will have an opportunity to take advanced courses with some of our internationally known faculty. The logic of the minor is straightforward: all students must complete a core of introductory and core theory courses, followed by a small number of upper division electives.

Equips students with essential skills to build models, analyze data, and construct algorithms to help meet the demand for professionals who excel in solving problems and discovering patterns. The program offers the flexibility to earn a BS in mathematics while pursuing a concentration in applied mathematics, statistics, or data science.

The MS in applied mathematics offers a general degree in applied mathematics along with options for specialization in many areas, preparing graduates for a multitude of careers in industry and business. The curriculum exposes students to a variety of coursework and provides the opportunity to participate in real-world research and consulting work.

Provides comprehensive training in applied mathematics and/or statistics, making graduates highly marketable in industry and academia. In addition to coursework, students engage in cutting-edge research in collaboration with leading scholars in a broad range of areas, including discrete mathematics, numerical analysis, operations research, and statistics.

Provides competence in descriptive statistics, estimation, confidence intervals, probability and inferential techniques, simple and multiple regression, analysis of variance, and more advanced topics. Students focus on a particular application area, such as economics, psychology, sociology, geology, or environmental science through an elective course and the data analysis project.??

Astrophysics is an important and well-represented sub discipline in physics. It includes the study of the solar system, galactic and extragalactic astrophysics, as well as cosmology. A minor in this field combines a theoretical approach with observational analysis. There is opportunity to do research in this field as well. The physics department offers minors in physics, biophysics, and astrophysics. However, it is not possible to receive a minor in more than one of these fields. Also, physics majors may elect to receive the astrophysics or biophysics minor from the department, but not the physics minor.
