Our Campus and Community
Located in the heart of downtown Denver, CU Denver’s central location gives our students access to all the amenities of a global city.
A Shared Campus Designed for Connection and Discovery
As part of the Auraria Campus, our university offers wide-open green spaces, expansive pedestrian streets, and multi-institutional buildings like the historic Tivoli Student Union and the modern Auraria Library. CU Denver has three buildings in the middle of bustling downtown. Denver’s historic Larimer Street and lower downtown (LoDo) are practically at our front door, and Union Station, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and 16th Street are just moments away.
First-Year Student Housing at CU Denver
Our community also includes two on-campus student housing options, Lynx Crossing and City Heights Residence Hall, which is designed specifically for first-year students. Students who live off campus have easy access to public transportation (including light rail and buses), parking, and bike paths.
We love our central location because it is convenient for our students who live throughout the Denver metro area’s many diverse neighborhoods. Students who work downtown know that they can toggle between work and school quickly. And students who live north or south of the city, along the Front Range corridor, also benefit from our centrally located campus.
A Community Invested in Colorado’s Success
Our community, which includes more than 13,000 students, is supported by 1,900 employees who aim to make education work for all. The university is a major contributor to Colorado’s economy and has an annual economic impact of $665 million. Nearly 70% of our graduates stay in Colorado to build careers that support the state’s towns and cities.
