Join CU Denver’s Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education and Human Development concentration in Research and Evaluation Methods to become exceptionally data savvy and immediately apply your learning to your field. Students gain expertise in methods and advanced analysis techniques while participating in research, evaluation, and teaching experiences.

The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education and Human Development with a specialization in Mathematics Education prepares scholars and researchers to become leaders at the forefront of mathematics education. This program addresses the critical shortage of mathematics teachers and the urgent need to improve mathematics learning across all grade levels through rigorous research, innovative pedagogy, and evidence-based practices.

This PhD program takes a multi-disciplinary approach to preparing students for college and university teaching and research, as well as the development and evaluation of programs that seek to expand equity in opportunities and outcomes for children, youth, and families.

The PhD in Inclusive Early Childhood Education concentration prepares candidates to be faculty members, researchers, and leaders. Graduates will be at the forefront of change in the areas of early childhood education, early childhood special education, and early childhood multicultural/multilingual education. Currently, the Early Childhood Education concentration is not accepting applications.

The Learning Design concentration engages doctoral students in the creation, implementation, and study of learning design, learner-centered design approaches, and design-justice practices across academic, corporate, and community settings. Doctoral coursework is grounded in literature about equity-oriented learning; principles of design justice and learner-centered design; the impact of learning design on individuals and communities; and design-based research methods. Students who pursue this concentration are guided to implement doctoral research that centers the role and value of lived experience and directly influences real-world problems of professional practice.

CU Denver’s EdD, with a concentration in early childhood education, is designed to prepare professionals to become leaders and advocates in early childhood and early childhood special education in inclusive, culturally, and linguistically diverse early childhood contexts. Graduates are prepared to work in leadership positions in national, state and local government, in personnel preparation, and to lead early childhood direct service organizations.

Provides content-area teachers (math, science, social studies, etc.) with a foundation of teaching content for multilingual students. The certificate is also valuable to content-area coaches or administrators with a commitment to diversity and social justice, and who provide support for teachers with multilingual learners in K - 12 classrooms. Courses are offered synchronously and asynchronously.

Businesses aren’t competitive without the power of data. Bridge the gap between operations research and management with an MS in Business Analytics. This program doesn’t just train students how to understand numbers. We train students on how to recommend actionable decisions based on data.

The Business Fundamentals Minor adds value to your chosen major by providing a foundation in the skills necessary to compete in today’s global business environment. With no prerequisites, this five-course sequence introduces you to critical management, marketing, finance, and communication skills for both career success and personal growth.

The Business Minor requires students to take the same business core classes as our Bachelor of Science students. This minor is more intensive than the Business Fundamentals Minor, because it gives you a stronger base in all business disciplines

Creates next-generation thought leaders by training students to analyze how technology can be transformative in business, society, and daily life. Students work with experts in the field to craft impactful research that applies to business today. This program’s PhD graduates have achieved 100% academic job placement over the past three years.

Sharpens students’ business skills and prepares them to leverage resources and create out-of-the-box solutions. The Jake Jabs Center for Entrepreneurship brings a strong experiential component by inviting leading entrepreneurs into classes, hosting networking events, and awarding funds for startups at its annual business plan competition.
