CU Denver was excited to announce the launch of the Sorority & Fraternity Life (SFL) program in the Spring of 2022.
By recently starting a sorority and fraternity community, we have had the unique opportunity to harness the impactful and empowering experiences these types of organizations provide and cultivate a community centered on participants’ sense of belonging, inclusiveness, and leadership development.
- A fraternity or sorority is a brotherhood, sisterhood, or siblinghood formed around common values, goals, and aspirations.
- The members who form a fraternity or sorority share a desire to make an impact on the communities they inhabit while learning to become a better version of themselves.
Fall 2026 Recruitment Dates
- Monday, August 3, 2026 - SFL Registration Form Opens (Fill out by September 4)
- Friday, September 4, 2026 @ 5pm - SFL Fall 2026 Registration Closes
- Monday, September 7 - December 5, 2026 - SFL Chapter New Member Recruitment Processes & New Member Education Programs for selected members.
Individual groups will publish their events schedules via social media or through email to students who have indicated interest.

- Members will enhance CU Denver school spirit through active involvement in on-campus events, health and wellness programming, and community engagement.
- Members will understand civil and social responsibility associated with campus and organization behavioral policies.
CU Denver’s Sorority & Fraternity Life (SFL) program is committed to fostering the development of socially responsible leaders through the encouragement of mutual respect, cultural sensitivity, and community contribution.
CU Denver’s Sorority & Fraternity Life program is committed to honoring and supporting students of varying identities, specifically underrepresented person/groups in the areas of race, culture/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, socioeconomic status, religious/spiritual affiliation, and veteran status. Encouraging a culture of cultural empathy and inclusion, members of Sorority & Fraternity Life organizations are required to participate in a comprehensive leadership development curriculum centered on developing socially responsible leaders, mutual respect, and cultural sensitivity.
CU Denver will implement an innovative model of Sorority & Fraternity Life focused on management of organizations through the lens of transparency, accountability, and inclusion.

Alpha Psi Lambda
The Nation’s First and Largest Coed Latino Fraternity. Alpha Psi Lambda was established on February 11, 1985 at The Ohio State University and has grown to 60 Chapters in 21 states with over 4,800 members. We believe in the concept of Familia to create a support network for our members while creating the real world experience of working with all genders.
Alpha Phi
Alpha Phi’s uniqueness is rooted in the spirit of innovation originated by Alpha Phi’s ten Founders in 1872. As they made history as the first female students on campus, several decided that they were not satisfied with merely participating in the classroom. Denied admission to the men’s fraternities, their Founders chose to create their own fraternity for women. The very heart of Alpha Phi membership is connected by a common set of ideals and a unique bond of sisterhood, a spirit of generosity, high expectations for character, and a drive for innovation. Alpha Phi Alpha
Alpha Phi Alpha™, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American Men, was founded on December 4, 1906™ at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York by seven college men who recognized the need for a strong bond of brotherhood among African descendants in this country.
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Founded on January 10, 1899, Tau Kappa Epsilon is one of the largest collegiate men’s social fraternities in North America with over 303,000 initiated members and 213 active chapters. TKE’s mission is to aid men in their mental, moral and social development for life. With nearly 12,000 collegiate members, Tau Kappa Epsilon contributes to the advancement of society through the personal growth of our members, and service to others. TKE builds Better Men for a Better World.
Alpha Kappa Alpha
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® (AKA), an international service organization, was founded on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. in 1908. It is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women.
Delta Sigma Theta
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 13, 1913, by 22 collegiate women at Howard University to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to those in need. The Founders of Delta Sigma Theta envisioned an organization committed to sisterhood, scholarship, service, and addressing the social issues of the time. Since its founding, Delta Sigma Theta has become one of the preeminent service-based sororities, with more than 350,000 initiated members and over 1,050 chartered chapters worldwide.
Omega Psi Phi
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (ΩΨΦ) is an international historically African-American social fraternity. It was founded on November 17, 1911 at Howard University in Washington, D.C. Omega Psi Phi is a founding member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council. The fraternity has chartered over 750 undergraduate and graduate chapters. Over 250,000 men have been initiated into Omega Psi Phi.
Zeta Phi Beta
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (ΖΦΒ) is a historically African American sorority. Since its founding, Zeta Phi Beta has historically focused on addressing social causes. Zeta Phi Beta is an organization that is divided into eight intercontinental regions and 800+ Chapters located in the US, Africa, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. In 1948, Zeta Phi Beta became the first Greek-letter organization to charter a chapter in Africa (in Monrovia, Liberia). Zeta Phi Beta is the third-largest predominantly African-American sorority.
