The University of Colorado Denver, comprised of CU Anschutz and CU Denver, campus has been accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The university’s accreditation status was most recently reaffirmed in 2020-2021.

Our community respects the intellectual property of others (i.e. the work or product of faculty, staff, and students). Users of our intellectual property are encouraged to learn about copyright law, fair use, peer-to-peer file sharing, and penalties.

Students’ rights and privacy of their educational record is found on the Office of the Registrar’s website.

The University of Colorado is a Hybrid Covered Entity (HCE) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). While the university’s activities are primarily under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), parts of the university, including Anschutz Medical Campus, carry on health care activities. The University of Colorado Denver, comprised of CU Anschutz and CU Denver, has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) and is authorized to provide education to students located outside of Colorado. Each higher education institution shall report to their home state information regarding their teacher education programs. Information includes program requirements, enrollment data, program completion data, and assessment rates (i.e., number of students granted their teacher certification/licenses).

Textbook information is available in the UCDAccess student portal alongside class schedules. Information includes ISBN number and price of required and recommended textbooks. The bookstore is located in the Tivoli Station.

College Navigator provides students and parents with a wide range of information on academic programs, retention and graduation rates, student diversity, campus safety, accreditation, and estimated student expenses as well as financial aid availability.

The University does not condone high pressure recruitment tactics for recruiting any students, specifically those receiving federal funds or military/service members. The University will not engage in harassing, multiple unsolicited contacts by phone, e-mail, or in-person for purposes of recruitment. The University will train its admissions counselors to not engage in high pressure recruitment tactics.   

CU Denver Complaints and Grievances Policies and Procedures are intended to ensure students are treated fairly and equally and their complaints are resolved promptly. Complaints are usually the result of behavior that the student feels is unjust, inequitable, or creates an unnecessary hardship.​

Communication plays a critical role before, during, and after any emergency or disaster. The University of Colorado Denver is committed to preventing the use of illegal substances and encourage responsible behavior regarding alcohol and legal addictive substances through policy, education, and treatment. Short-term alcohol and other drug counseling is available through the Counseling Center for Denver students.

The Office of Equity is the University office designated to respond to issues related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct, including Title IX.

According to Colorado state law and to ensure the health and safety of our campus, proof of immunization is required prior to registering for all freshmen, transfer, and graduate students. Please review the following policies regarding immunization and vaccination.

The Annual Diversity Report and the Student Success Dashboards provide information on enrollment, retention, and graduation based on students’ ethnicity, gender, financial aid recipients, and students who transferred into CU Denver. Please contact the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness for more information.

Post Undergraduate Degree Outcomes (including exam/licensure pass rates)

The Career Center collects information on what our undergraduates do after graduation. The First Destination Dashboard provides information about continuing education pursued by alumni or the type of employment obtained after graduation.

The School of Education and Human Development Counseling Program provides exam pass rates and employment rates of their graduates.

The Colorado Department of Higher Education provides annual median earnings for Colorado graduates one, five and ten years following completion of their degree. Note: Anschutz Medical Campus programs will be found under “University of Colorado Denver”.

The Financial Aid and Scholarship Office provides information on how to apply for financial aid, the types of aid students can receive (federal, state (COF), institutional, or private funds), and how aid is applied to a student’s bill including paying for course material.

The University is required to send federal financial aid information to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). You can access your information online at https://studentaid.gov. You will need to log in with your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID.

Students who receive any form of financial aid have certain rights and responsibilities. Additionally, CU Denver staff follow the Student Loan Code of Conduct. Learn more about CU Denver’s financial aid policies and regulations, including continuing financial aid eligibility.

Before receiving your first Federal Direct Loan, the U.S. Department of Education requires you to complete Loan Entrance Counseling. The counseling covers your rights and responsibilities, interest rates, repayment options and the consequences of not repaying your loan.

Loan Exit Counseling provides information needed for repayment of your federal student loans. You must complete exit counseling each time you drop below half-time enrollment, graduate, or otherwise leave school.

Cost of attendance includes tuition and fees, housing and meals, books and supplies, transportation, and personal expenses. Below are a few links to help determine what your estimated costs will be while attending CU Denver. 

Unfortunately, when life happens, you may need to withdraw from school during a semester. If you must withdraw from CU Denver your aid may be revised, which could result in repayment of all or a portion of the aid you received. Other situations when your aid may be revised is if you stop attending classes without officially withdrawing or drop below half-time status. Prior to leaving CU Denver you should contact Lynx Central to learn how your aid will be impacted.

If you are graduating, stopped attending, or are no longer enrolled at least half-time, learn about your loans and repayment.

Students enrolled in a study abroad program through CU Denver registrar’s office may be considered for federal financial aid funds to help pay for the cost of the program. 

The Counseling Center provides confidential mental health counseling services to CU Denver students as well as community members and Denver Public Schools (DPS) students and their families. Fee-paying students receive counseling sessions at no cost. Community members are charged a nominal fee for services.

Disability Resources and Services promotes an inclusive experience and equal access for students with disabilities. We coordinate reasonable accommodations, assist with identifying and removing barriers, and provide referrals to university and community resources.
