Designed for students interested in careers in public policy and administration. This track emphasizes the political aspects of public policy processes, grounded in basic political science theory and familiarity with American, comparative, and international politics. Courses focus on key policy issues confronting local, state, and national decision makers and citizens.

Prepares students to understand how psychologists think critically and design and conduct scientific research on behavior and mental processes. Students learn professional skills, such as how to communicate, use statistics, work in teams, and solve problems, that will apply to a range of jobs in various fields. Topics include biological, developmental, cognitive, and abnormal psychology.

Prepares students for employment and graduate study in many areas of psychology and related fields, including neuroscience and biomedical research. This course of study focuses primarily on the biological and biochemical basis of behavior and mental function.

Prepares BA students to specialize in the social sciences and public health, particularly to protecting the environment, identifying sources of illness in populations, controlling disease outbreaks, evaluating the economic impacts of changing demographics, developing interventions to promote healthy behavior, and producing health policy legislation.

This accelerated undergraduate to graduate program develops an educational path for students to get a BA/BS in public health at CU Denver and a Master’s in Public Health degree at the Colorado School of Public Health in 5 years. Current public health majors can apply to this program after certain criteria are met.

Prepares BS students to specialize in the natural sciences and public health, particularly protecting the environment, identifying sources of illness in populations, controlling disease outbreaks, evaluating the economic impacts of changing demographics, developing interventions to promote healthy behavior, and producing health policy legislation.

Students working toward a minor in demography within the Department of Health and Behavioral Sciences (HBS) will acquire focused training in theories and methods of demography. The minor will help students develop important skills in critical thinking and quantitative reasoning, and will prepare them for graduate level training in demography or related fields and for jobs requiring an understanding of population dynamics. Demographers are frequently employed in occupations including academia, risk assessment, marketing, consulting, nonprofits, and various local, state and federal government agencies.

The undergraduate minor in Public Health is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of the social, cultural, and biological dimensions of health. The minor curriculum provides students with the intellectual and methodological tools needed to understand the joint bio-cultural determinants and contexts of health, health care and public health.

Prepares students to apply historical methods to preserve the past and to present it to the public. Graduates go on to professions in museums, historic preservation, cultural resource management, archives, and digital humanities.
